A Bump

So we are pretty lucky! (sarcasm)

This morning Amazon.com (who provides our hosting infrastructure) had a platform failure. This had never happened before! What are the chances, oh well! Our site had intermittent issues because of it, so if you experienced any problems accessing the site, they are now resolved.

Looking forward to seeing some great communities in the coming weeks!

It all begins…

As many of you know, the idea for Teach The People began while I was on a plane up to Boston. I was completing masters work, and boom, the idea just came. Well, it is almost a year later (last November) and we are launching the service we believe will change the world, and coincidentally, I am on a train coming back from Boston. Today I met with professors at Harvard, yes Harvard, who have bought into the Teach The People movement and are ready to create high quality learning communities. We have high hopes that the people of the world will shock us with the quality of the learning communities they will build.

Today we invite the first 150. Next week we open up to international audiences. It is going to be a wild ride.

Stay tuned!!

Friday is Day 1 for Teach the People

Beginning this Friday Teach the People will share its birthday with the likes of Ed Sullivan, Steve Largent, and Gwenyth Paltrow as we open the site to our first round of private beta users. With the type of change Jason and I hope to effect in the sphere of worldwide education we know we have a long road in front of us, but it has to begin somewhere, and for us the beginning is 9-28-2007. To those of you in our private beta…welcome, we want you to surprise us. We have our own ideas regarding what can be done with Teach the People, however, we also know our ideas are only the tip of the iceberg. We’re giving you the tools (more to come) and the space to teach anyone anything, but the challenge is up to YOU to make Teach the People a destination for collaborative education and knowledge sharing! For those of you who want to sign up for Teach the People, send us your information through the submission form at www.teachthepeople.com, we will give you access as soon as we can. Use this time organize the knowledge you will share with others, and get prepared to join a community eager to learn with you! More to come soon!!
